Welcome to the world of Onfractus!
A long time ago, a barren rock orbited a star not unlike our own. But this world had never seen water, let alone life. A cosmic series of events eventually hurled a comet in the direction of this lifeless world, and as it connected the world seemed to shatter. Entire tectonic plates rose up and flew into the skies as the world was pushed closer to the sun. As this happened, the comet began to melt, filling in some craters caused by this massive impact, and bringing life-abundant waters throughout the world. But many of the landmasses remained afloat in the sky, making a unique planet that would never be the same. The massive rivers, quarries, and sky islands alike began to find their place in this strange world.
Flashing forward to the present, and a majestic land awaits you. A fantastic world of magic and monsters, treasure and travels can be found in every direction (including straight upward!). From the mighty Enjorran Empire to the Wildlands, and from the Quarries to the Skylands, adventure and excitement wait around every corner.
The United Quarry believes in a system of living that requires no money, when anyone becomes a citizen they forfeit their coin to the government in exchange for housing and access to the quarries, guests are permitted on the basis that a fee is paid on entry and that the laws of the land are followed.
The Nobles of the Sky live only on the highest of the islands of the sky, many of which have lived there for generations, it is considered the highest social class obtainable in Onfractus, only the lowest of the Nobles prepare exports, the highest ranking of the nobles have created the common currency used in Onfractus generations before and sit on large stores of wealth.
When Micaiah Wynpeiros first designed the airship, it opened up new opportunities for travel between the islands of the sky, most notably the first that did not require direct magic, organizing the largest trade routes between the islands and the mainland, for three generations this trade realm was unified under the leadership of the Wynpeiros family, but was later dissolved for a representative body based on independent island leadership.
Originally a small kingdom further west, Salus Enjorra began expansion on neighboring human colonies, many accepted leadership for the benefits of security, others were taken by force, over time the ruling leadership has become more calm, but still has strict border policy.
Where the great rivers meet the giant fountain erupts, and a great civilization has gathered around, significant individuals of each trade work together to ensure the safety of the land, the Grand Guard maintain the somewhat shifting borders and peace in the land.
A land without defined borders, Orc'yaim is home to the many orcs that live in Onfractus, turning no one away but requiring loyalty to a clan. A competitive nature is found for both man and beast alike, and a general agreement with wild monsterfolk is to stay within each of their bounds.
Once the predominant merchants and trade rulers of Onfractus, the Marine Remnant has become close to obsolete after the invention of the airship.
In the deep forests to the east, very few call this place home.

Myket
Patron Saint of the Grand Fountain
Gained a large following, even after his death
Regarded to be the founder of the Meritocracy of the Grand Fountain
Followers claim he was a patron of Argo, Koya, Venkad, Ruukel, Ahsion, Anku, Avu, and Aishei. This is a heavy point of dispute, and has even spurred minor conflict. Because he never recorded his own words, and the accounts all differ, it is still unknown to this day.
Myket never recorded his own works, but several accounts have been collected. Popular compilations include The Grand Myket, Pilgrim, Saint of Onfractus, Fountain of Knowledge, and Memories of Myket
